Welcome to German 102 Elementary German II!

The main objective of this course is to continue to work on your proficiency in German in the four basic language skills areas: listening/understanding, speaking, reading and writing.

If you work hard and pay attention you will also gain a more sophisticated understanding of the culture in German-speaking countries. Along with viewing and discussing the video you will also be introduced to a number essential (grammatical) structures of German.

It is extremely important that you engage with the class and the material in a committed and lively fashion. This is the only way you will see tangible results - and the time spent in class will be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all.

In this class we will cover Chapters 10 through 19 of Fokus Deutsch.
1. The basic requirement is that you come to class having prepared the assigned material.
2. In addition I expect you to participate actively both in class and at the tutorials.
3. Another important requirement is the prompt completion of all homework assignments. I would like you to complete all the workbook exercises for each chapter and hand them in on the last day we work on that chapter. The accurate and timely completion of all homework assignments is an important indicator of your level of commitment to this class.

There will be three exams in this course, each covering 3 chapters. There will also be addictional vocabulary quizzes, if I think it will help you master it. There'll also be a cumulative final exam.
