Community Dancers of Jackson

Community Dancers of Jackson offers classes for modern square dancing during the school year and summer square dancing in the Cascades Park bandshell. This group also offers demonstration square dancing.

Square Dancing

Square dance classes are offered every semester through the Community Education program of the Northwest Community Schools. No partner is necessary. Singles, couples, and families are welcome. Beginners should join one of the first two lessons of the series. Experienced square dancers are welcome to attend any of the classes.

Schedule: Thursday evenings.
Fall 2014 series begins September 4.

Beginners: 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Intermediate/Plus square dancing: 8:00pm to 9:00pm

Children (8 to 16 years of age accompanied by a participating adult): $1.50 per lesson
Intermediate and Plus dancers: $2.00 per lesson

Summer Dancing

Weekly square dancing in the an open-air bandshell. Calling is adapted to the experience level of the dancers (basic, mainstream, and plus) with brief workshops as necessary.

Schedule: Thursday evenings, 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Demonstration Square Dances

Experienced square dancers in their fancy outfits show off the intricate figures they have mastered through years of dancing. Demonstrations can be arranged for nursing homes, convalescent centers, and other groups. For further information, call 517-784-0863.
