Dear Parents:
In the Fall of 2006, your son or daughter will be eligible to begin a musical career with the Beuler Butkiss Band Program. Myself along with the music department staff are excited to being training on an instrument with your child(ren).
Music allows a child to learn a new language, be creative, and most importantly, learn to be expressive. Through band, a child will begin to discover their identity and make their closest friends. Band is more than just an academic class; it is creating a support network through music, and having fun.
Recently, I visited your child’s class to show them the instruments, and determine how many students will be participating in band next year. During this visit, I demonstrated each beginning band instrument, assessed the student’s physical capabilities, and asked each one to choose three different instruments they would like to play. Taking all these details into account, I am pleased to inform you that your child is going to play the ____________________.
Teachers and counselors will be approaching your child to register for classes next year. I encourage you to allow your students this life enhancing opportunity to be a member of the Beuler Butkiss Band Program. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to call me at school.
Sincerely,
Shelly McLeod
